Ronnie
has over twenty-five years of public accounting experience,
concentrating in the area of taxation over the past twenty years.
He has extensive experience with nonprofit organizations, owner managed
businesses, S Corporations, partnerships, and high wealth
individuals. Ronnie has also received the Certified Valuation
Analyst designation from the National Association of Certified
Valuation Analysts. Prior to forming Batchelor, Tillery &
Roberts, LLP, Ronnie was with KPMG Peat Marwick for ten years where he
served as director of the Personal Financial Planning Practice for two
years.
He is a member of the American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina
Association of Certified Public Accountants. Ronnie serves
on the Executive Committee of the YMCA of the Triangle Area, Inc. as
the organization’s Immediate Past President, is an Elder at White
Memorial Presbyterian Church serving as chairman of the Finance and
Stewardship Committee, and is also a former President and Treasurer of
the Carolina Country Club in Raleigh.

science degree in business administration with a concentration in
accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Ann H. Tillery

Ann
began her career in 1972 with KPMG Peat Marwick and was admitted to the
partnership in 1983. In 1990 she earned her CFP designation from
the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. The following
year she formed Batchelor, Tillery & Roberts, LLP. Although
she works with a wide variety of clients, Ann specializes in tax and
financial planning for high wealth individuals and closely-held
businesses and their owners.
She is a member of the American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the North Carolina
Association of Certified Public Accountants, and the Raleigh
Professional Women’s Forum. She is Vice-President of
Membership for the Wake County Estate Planning Council and serves on
the Planned Giving Committee of the Boys & Girls Clubs and the
Professional Advisors Committee of the Triangle Community Foundation.
Ann received a bachelor of

accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Franklin T. Roberts

Franklin has over twenty-seven years of public accounting experience,
specializing in assurance and financial consulting services. He has
extensive experience with nonprofits, agricultural companies, construction
and manufacturing corporations, commercial entities, and employee benefit
plans. Prior to forming Batchelor, Tillery & Roberts, LLP, he was
with KPMG Peat Marwick for 10 years.
He is a member of the American Institute
of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of
Certified Public Accountants. He serves on the board of directors of
The Center for the Study of Place, Inc. and the advisory board of the
Salvation Army, Raleigh, NC. He is an active member of Edenton Street
United Methodist Church, and coaches youth sports year round.
Franklin received a bachelors degree
in business administration with a concentration in accounting from the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a Morehead-Cain
Scholar.
William James Black, Jr.

Jim
has twenty five years of public accounting experience providing audit,
accounting, tax and advisory services to a wide range of industries
including software, manufacturing, real estate, nonprofit, securities
and medical services. Prior to joining Batchelor, Tillery
& Roberts, LLP in 1996, Jim was with Deloitte and with Adams, Black
and Associates.
He is a member of the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of
Certified Public Accountants, and has served at various levels for both
organizations including President of the North Carolina
Association. He is treasurer and a member of the board of
directors of Haven House, Inc., a nonprofit organization that serves
runaway and homeless youth. He is a member of Edenton
Street United Methodist Church and has served as treasurer and as
chairman of trustees.
Jim received his bachelors degree in accounting from North Carolina State University.
Scott E. Cabaniss

Scott
has over twenty years of public accounting experience, specializing in
assurance services. He has extensive experience with large and
small companies in varying industries, including manufacturing,
construction and real estate, biotechnology, telecommunications and
media, healthcare, financial institutions, and not-for-profits.
Prior to joining Batchelor, Tillery & Roberts, LLP in 2007, Scott
worked for KPMG in the Raleigh office for nineteen years.
Scott
is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public
Accountants. Scott has served on the board of directors of
not-for-profit organizations such as the Theta Chi Alumni Housing Board
and the Triangle Chapter of the Construction Financial Managers
Association, and he is also an active member of St. Mark’s United
Methodist Church.
